The Gathering is a Spirit‑led, God‑seeking community of Jesus followers committed to boldly multiplying transformed disciples as we dwell together in God’s presence.
Just like the early Jesus followers, we have deep fellowship, break bread together, dig into scripture, worship and live life together. The church exists to form people who experience healing, become like Jesus, discover purpose, and live in intimate communion with God and one another. We do life with each other and carry out God’s mission.
We have three types of Gatherings
Acts 2 Fellowships: These groups are made of 10-20 people who meet in people's houses similar to the church in Acts 2:42-28. We eat a meal together breaking bread, seek God together, pray together, and share life together. These groups are modeled after John Wesley's class meetings using the Inspire Movement model.
Soul Groups: These are groups of 3-5 people who meet together for deeper sharing and accontability. The main questions that will be asked is, "How is it with your soul?"
Worship Gatherings: As we grow in number, we begin to have worship gatherings at least once a month. The community will have a chance to worship God. This service will have music and sermons like most worship services. However, this worship will also have an element that we call "Seeking". This is a time where people seek God through prayer stations, prayer partners, and singing. The gathered community will also minister to each other through the use of your spiritual gifts.
Our location:
We are a Global Methodist Church in Jessamine County, KY forming a network of house churches/micro churches throughout Wilmore, Nicholasville, and beyond. Groups find a day, time and place that works for them and focus on cultivating deep community and shaping disciples who live out Jesus’ mission.
The entry point for the church is through the Acts 2 fellowships. We currently have several fellowship groups that have already started or are forming.
The Shelter: A Sunday evening group that meets together at 5pm for dinner, worship, teaching, and rhythms. The leaders of that group are Chance and Suzanne Robinson
Thursday Fellowship: This group meets every other Thursday evening at 6:00pm in Bryantsville (within 10 minutes of Herrigton Lake). The leaders of this group are Tom and Melody Hiel.
Wilmore Fellowship: A group is forming in Wilmore right now. Time and place to be determined.
If those times do not work for you, we have two other groups with our partner church, Christ Church. One meets in Lexington on Monday night and another in Wilmore every other Tuesday. Both meet at 6:00pm.
What do we do during an Acts 2 gathering?
First, we eat and break bread together. During the meal we share where we have seen God working or where we wish that we had seen God working. Following dinner, we have a time of focus in worship and teaching followed by a weekly rhythm. We have four rhythms that rotate each week. Rhythm one, we each share about the state of our souls. Rhythm 2, we learn about and discuss a spiritual discipline or a spiritual gift. Rhythm 3, we each share a scripture that God has used to speak into our lives. Finally, the fourth rhythm is a discussion of where we are on mission for a God or an activity of being on mission.
What do you mean that this is a discipleship movement and a church?
Our main objective is to make disciples. We are a church plant, but you do not have to be a member of the church to participate in any of our gatherings. Whether you do or do not have a church home, we want you to join us. The only requirement is that you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus and that you want to be part of the community.
Will I be judged?
We believe that all people have great worth and should be respected because everyone is God's child. We do not care what you wear, if your hair is in a ponytail or bonnet, what car you drive, where you live, the color of your skin....If you are a human being, you are welcome!
What denomination?
We are a new church that is 0 years old within the Global Methodist Church. Christ Church, another Global Methodist Church is our partnering church. We partner together for childrens and youth ministry and other outreach.

Rev. Dr. Jessica Neely and Rev. Casey Neely
Jessica and Casey are a seasoned pastoral team with decades of combined experience launching, revitalizing, and multiplying Christ‑centered ministries. United by a shared calling to help people know Jesus Christ and become disciples, they have served together across churches, nonprofits, and college ministry settings, consistently bringing spiritual vitality, organizational clarity, and a heart for raising up new leaders.
Beginning in 2001, Casey and Jessica have partnered together to lead churches. They helped launch the first additional campus of Grace Church in Ft. Myers, FL, and led River of Life UMC, a 10-year-old church plant in Jacksonville, FL. Both of these grew into vibrant congregations growing in numbers and impact in the community.
Over the past 7 years, they have partnered together as pastors to college students at UK and KSU at the Wesley Foundations. Their shared ministry is marked by a commitment to relational ministry, biblical teaching, Spirit‑led innovation, discipleship, and developing Christian leaders.
Married for 27 years, they are partners in life and ministry. They have two daughters: Emma, a medical student at the University of Kentucky, and Megan, who will begin a business degree at Asbury University this fall. In their free time, Jessica and Casey love being outside in God’s creation doing things like boating and hiking. They are big football fans and cheer for the Florida Gators, Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys.
Most important of all they are followers of Jesus and feel blessed every day to be loved, saved and transformed by Him! Their passion is that everyone would experience that blessing of knowing and growing in Jesus.
